Tottenham Hotspur secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in a hard-fought Premier League encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. The win lifted Tottenham into the top four of the standings, while Nottingham Forest remained in the relegation zone.
Both teams started the match brightly, but it was Tottenham who took the lead in the 17th minute through Harry Kane. The England captain latched on to a low cross from Son Heung-min and fired a shot into the bottom corner. Nottingham Forest equalized 10 minutes later when Brennan Johnson curled a stunning effort into the top corner.
The second half was a cagey affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. However, Tottenham eventually found the breakthrough in the 80th minute. Substitute Arnaut Danjuma was brought down in the penalty area by Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, and Kane stepped up to convert the spot-kick.
Nottingham Forest pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages, but Tottenham held firm to secure the three points. The win was Tottenham's second in a row, and it will give them a boost as they prepare for a tough run of fixtures in March.
