1 Phase All 175 ACs Date of Issue of Gazette Notification

The General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, India, is scheduled to be held in one phase on 2024. The notification for the election was issued on March 31, 2024, and the last date for filing nominations was April 7, 2024. The scrutiny of nominations was held on April 8, 2024, and the last date for withdrawal of candidatures was April 10, 2024. Voting will be held from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on May 13, 2024, and the counting of votes will take place on May 16, 2024.

The incumbent Indian National Congress (INC) led-government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, will be seeking re-election. The main opposition party is the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by N. T. Rama Rao Jr. Other major parties contesting the election include the Jana Sena Party (JSP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)).

The election is expected to be closely contested, with both the INC and the TDP being well-entrenched in the state. The JSP, which was formed in 2014, is also expected to play a significant role in the election. The BJP, which has been making inroads into the state, is also expected to put up a strong fight.
